Newtown Ruck Club

What is Rucking?

Rucking is walking with weight. If you can walk, you can ruck.

It’s a great exercise and it’s more fun with friends, so grab a pack and get out there!

  • Low impact (your joints will thank you)

  • Great zone 2 cardio (walking + talking)

  • Burns up to 3X more calories than walking without weight

  • Builds core stability

  • Many skill levels can ruck together by adjusting weight

  • It gets you outside and social

  • It’s fun!

Kelley Foster Manager of Newtown Ruck Club

Hi! I’m Kelley

I started the Newtown Ruck Club to spread the word about rucking and to meet friends who are interested in being outdoors, social, and fit.

Why rucking?

I started rucking two years ago when a sore back and knees sent me searching for an alternative to running. My husband introduced a group of us to rucking and we haven’t looked back since. We each ruck multiple times a week, individually and in groups, and are spreading the word.

What’s a ruck club?

A ruck club is a way to introduce more people to rucking as we grow a local community. I see the Newtown Ruck Club as a way to organize for meetups, build accountability, share favorite routes, and meet more friends and neighbors.

All are welcome

Are you curious? Great! Consider this an open invitation to try something new. Follow us on Sandlot.fit to get notified about our group rucks and other local meetups. Reach out to me directly if you have any questions!

Cheers,
